What is UpToMe.co.uk?
This site is a place where users can upload files and get a quick link to their files for sharing with others.
How do I get an account?
Log in with your choice of username and password. If the username is not already chosen, a request will be put through
to administrators to activate your account.
Do my files have to be public?
Any file you upload can be set up as hidden. This means it will only appear in the file list for you and for
administrators. That said, every file has a direct link to it with no security blocking access to it - but you
do know have to know the link.
Can I delete files?
Yes, there is a little cross icon for each file that you own. There are no second chances and no undo buttons, so
be careful what you click on.
How do I find a quicklink?
There are a number of small icons for each file. As long as its not a hidden file, there will be one which acts as a
quicklink. Right click and choose 'Copy Link Location' or 'Copy Shortcut' to get the link into the clipboard to paste
Hidden files don't have quicklinks?
No they don't. It would be too easy to find files users have hidden if they did. Owners of hidden files can still
copy the longer, direct link to the file to share with others.
Are there any rules?
Don't store illegal, abusive or pornographic content. Files larger than 5Mb should not be uploaded. You use this
service at your own risk. The administrators reserve the right to remove any content without notice or reason, and
as such assume no responsibility for data lost in using this service. Remember that files served here are accessible
by others, and as such sensitive content should be avoided.
What should I do if I think something should be removed?
Use the contact button on the left, and make your case to the administrators via that email address. If a file is
in breach of the rules or particularly sensitive, then the file will be removed.
Either read it as "uploading files to me (the server)" or "uploading to a tome
(meaning a big book to store things in)". It just seemed like a nice name for the site.
